Just wanted to mention why the blog suddenly stopped. It’s been updated on the 12th of every month for a couple of years, after all. Some of you are regular readers!
First of all, it will be coming back! Probably not until 2027, but I have more than 100 work in progress posts to wrap up and get out there. Among those, a rework of An Object-Rich World that adds two other broad categories of systemic architectures, including sample code, and turns it into a series of three posts instead of one. I also have a finished post on why generative Ai is a poor match with systemic design and architecture that I really want to get out there.
But all of that will have to wait, because I recently started working fulltime on my own project, on my own dime. So I don’t quite have the spare time needed to research and write the kinds of posts I like writing. There are already enough new things to talk about after just a couple of months of doing my own thing, so the writing will definitely resume at some point.
Hopefully, you all keep hanging around until there’s more to share!
Check out the Blog Guide to see if you missed anything. This blog is still the foundation for a lot of the things I do as well as a wider conversation on systemic design in games.
Catch you on the flip side!
